COMMENCING WORK

CONFIRMATION OF EMPLOYMENT

You will have been interviewed and have received a formal offer of employment providing some basic details of your job, pay and hours etc.

Your principle Statement of Terms and Conditions of Service, together with other details within this handbook cover all the main terms and conditions of employment applicable to you at Financial Information Technology (FIT). We require you to provide us with a passport/photo driving license (if available), work permit (if applicable), original utility bill or original of a bank statement, NI number, criminal conviction disclosure (if relevant).

PERSONNEL FILE

As an employee you will have a personnel file created which will contain details such as your application form, letter of engagement, copy of your Principal Statement of Terms and Conditions of Service etc. During the course of your employment any copy letters, documents relating to your individual circumstances will be added to your personnel file.

Under the Data Protection Act 1998 this personal data will be retained by the company and/or by its third party representatives in a manual or computerised form, and will be processed by the company and/or its representatives in a fair and lawful manner, in accordance with the regulations. You will have the right to access your Personnel Records by giving reasonable notice of your request. A small administration charge may be made for the provision of this service. 

PERSONAL DETAILS

Please keep us informed of any changes in your personal circumstances e.g. new address, telephone number and next of kin. It is important that we keep such information up to date in order to make contact with you whenever appropriate.

JOB DESCRIPTION

At the beginning of your employment we will issue you with a Job Description for the position you are holding. The purpose of a Job Description is to clearly set down the main tasks and responsibilities within your job, so that there is a proper understanding of the job at the earliest stage in your employment.

To reflect the changing needs of the business there may be adjustments made from time to time to your Job Description. You will be fully consulted over such changes.

PROBATIONARY EMPLOYMENT

In accordance with standard business practice the first three months of your employment with us will be regarded as a probationary period. During this period we shall review with you your on-going performance and suitability. Naturally we would hope to confirm your position as permanent, but it may be necessary to extend the probationary period with your knowledge, or where you prove to be unsuitable to terminate your employment within or at the conclusion of the probationary period. Any authorised leave taken during your probationary period will result in an equivalent extension to the probationary period.
