PUBLIC/BANK HOLIDAYS

New Years Day Last Monday in May
Good Friday Last Monday in August
Easter Monday Christmas Day
First Monday in May Boxing Day

The above Public/Bank holidays or substitute days, are recognised with pay in addition to your annual leave entitlement referred to earlier in this section and do not count towards our liability under the terms of the Working Time Regulations.

However, due to the nature of our business, there may be occasions when you will be required to work on one or more of the above days.

PAYMENT ON PUBLIC/BANK HOLIDAYS

Where the above days are recognised with pay in addition to your annual leave entitlement, payment will only be made in the following circumstances:-

  • That you were contracted, or scheduled, to work on the day.
  • That you work on both the working day before and after the holiday, unless prevented from doing so by reason of pre-authorised annual holiday, or sickness/injury absence validated by an authorised medical certificate.

When taken as a days leave you will receive payment at your normal basic daily rate of pay.

Should you be required to work on one of the above days you will receive payment at the rate of single time for all hours worked.

Any time in lieu applicable under this section is to be taken by mutual agreement with Management.
